Just got 05 evo viii weird exhuast?

Whats up to everyone. just bought 05 evo viii with 37k. Just sold 95 eclipse gst.So as
i check the car out it has a K&n drop in filter but the filter cover was off and in the trunk? any advantage to this? The exhuast is striaght pipe from cat (resonators cut out) same size as stock (2.5" ?)into a flowmaster delta 40? Sounds deep and throaty,
not loud and ricy but is this any better than stock exhuast or even worse? any advice on first mods?test pipe,bov,true cold air intake,boost control any order to do these mods in? I will be doing in stages maybe an upgrade every month or so.Should i get it tuned first then mods then tuned again.Will my car as it is gain from a tune?
i am in memphis and see alot of post from mellon. Sorry about the long post but i am all exicited about my evo and nothing is ever fast enough for me however this is my daily driver so i still ant it kind of tame!

3in" turbo back exhaust, MBC, keep the K&N and get a good tune. Whatever you assume you know about cars doesn't quite apply to the evo. Your stock intake box is fine if you want a louder BOV sound get a buschur cone filter kit, no need for a new BOV either. Oh and the best mod you can do for your car is to become a great driver, I have seen plenty of wrecked evo out here from inexperience with a AWD car find some NASA event in your area i am sure you will find people will to help your driving.

I am 30 and been racing since 15 .The driver is not the problem here i owned a gsx (AWD) and a gst eclipse I also have a 77 nova with a 383 stroker motor 600hp. Just want a little help beefing up the evo.

if youre doing just bolt ons i wouldnt tune it until i had all of them on but if your gonna change something that touches oil (cams for example) then of course a tune would be needed right afterward.
