New To The Forum
Hey guys my names roman i live in the westchester, new york area....ive been looking around this whole site back and forth from about 11:00pm last nite till 3:45am....the way the Evo was desgined is amazing honestly best platform ever(well to me for autoxing) and im going to not try to annoy you guys with my noob questions lol....
Now for what i know off this forum(and correct me if im wrong) the lighest Evo is the RS but was that for every year?
The best to modify is the Evo IX, true?
Which Evo year is Best and why?
What is the average weight reduction people make...amount? and what?
What kinda power is usally made? and is a 600hp extreme were bore or stroke is necessary and with that kind of power could it be street?
Ive seen what AMS and others have done...very impressed....
if some are annoyed then just send a link ill look....i want to know so much about evos!!!
I actually drive a EH3 1992 Honda Civic Hatchback (have a lot of Honda Love!
)and before i was so against Evos....to me (and dont laugh
) EVo was the biggest competion in autoxing...not drag lol
I love autoxing/time attacks/autoross/ but to be honest never really did it but when i starting to go to school upstate for automotive (you guys need wiring digrams i got you...i have all data in school) i drove a lot and i mean a lot of back roads and some canyon roads here and there.....so fun!!!....If it is possible from what i learn about Evos and get my questions answered i would love to own a Evo with 600hp and awsome suspenion for atime attacks,etc....by the way full interior!
Well guys i hope this is a new beginning!!! Thanks to all who respond
...let me know about you too

Welcome over to the dark side! As for all your questions, I'm sure someone with alot more experience can answer your tech questions more accurately than I can. I have found in my searching that your power can range from very mild to extreme. It doesn't matter. Many very high horse evo's still drive around on the street. I'm planning on doing a stroker and a 37r eventually, with full intent on keepin it a daily driver on full street trim. The RS is the lightest from the factory all years, I believe. If I'm wrong I certainly will be corrected by a more knowledgable member. As for the best year, I have no idea. I'll just say 04, cuz that's mine!
(totally based opinion!)
This forum is a very good tool. I've learned alot here. There are alot of smart people on here.

I'm fairly new here too, been lurking. I do remember when getting 100 hp per liter was pretty good (yeah, I'm old). With new technology on cylinder heads, timing, engine design, and turbos along with a lot of other things getting 143 hp per liter in stock trim is great. My opinion, getting 600 hp out of your engine and using it as a daily driver might be tough on your engine. I know there are guys here that get high hp figures though, and I'm sure don't use their car for weekends only. 600hp would be a rush! Anyway, welcome!
Welcome! Nice to see you are interested in something that truly utilizes the Evo's ability (AutoX). The RS is the lightest, and is the car of choice for most AutoXers. That being said, it's more than ok to race the other versions (GSR/MR). There are tons of threads on weight reduction, so do a search for terms like "weight", "reduction" etc. 600hp is a bit much for AutoX. Most guys prefer spool and low end torque to overall power. As far as suspension goes, the options are limitless. You'll get all kinds of brand suggestions but the best advice is, it's all in the setup. You can have a $10,000 set of 4-way Motons and get outclassed by a guy on perfectly setup Teins. Anywho I'll leave the searching to you, but look around in the motorsports forums and the Brakes/Tires/Suspension forums.
