Thinking of getting a 03 oz rally

Hi was looking into getting a 2003 oz rally with everything i want it will be about $17,500 should i wait for the ralliart to come out. I don't like the small wheels or grille on the oz edition but will the ralli art be way exspensive or what. plus i saw it will be like 162 hp instead of 120 hp which is a HUGE plus .
some thoughts from you oz owners. I am saving alot of money to pay for my wedding next year so I don't have much cash to throw around on aftermarket parts. so If i got the ralliart it looks like it has bigger wheels which i like and euro tail lights and a new bumper grill to make it look more like the evo. that would be better since it has alot of extras I want and I could finance he car instead of coming up with cash for aftermarket parts anybody know when the ralliart hits lots or how much it will be. I thought i saw a base price of 18,000 but I wonder what that would include. please help people thanks alot. I loved lookin around at your lancers. this site rules

Don't get married. Buy an EVO. I'm sorry, but if you can spend 17500 might as well go 20000 and get a Dodge Neon SRT-4 even though it is fugly compared to the EVO it's still better than the OZ or Ralliart.

Don't get a lancer, I have one and regret it. Spend a lil bit more and get a Mazda 6, or SRT-4. You won't regret one of those. The mazda has a lil performance and is stylish and the SRT-4 is fast and looks a lot nicer than the older neons. And as for the person that said don't get a SRT-4 cause he had to put a lot of money into his neon to keep it running. Well he has to stop hitting the ganja and think, NEW CARS HAVE WARRENTIES.

If you want bang for your buck, I would go with a MAZDASPEED Protoge. Best suspension in a sub 20k car, turbo, sound system, short shifter ... all stock.

Get a used WRX. You can find one for mabye a little more that 17500. Think about it....WRX..227HP-tons of aftermarket support...OZ..120HP-barly any aftermarket support and probly wont be much more with the evo out and the ralliart coming out later on.

if you like the looks of the 04 Ralli//Art i say go for it .. since you won't be spending a bunch on aftermarket. tho i really would rather have my 03 .. i think it's way better looking than the 04

Don't buy the OZ lancer!

I"m not trying to put down lancer owners, but if you value performance at all, I don't think you'll be happy with the car. I test drove one for a friend and I was apauled at the $21,000 asking price. I found it slow, and boring to drive. Although for an economy car I kind of liked the interior. Even if it was $15,000, I wouldn't buy it.

I'd buy an SRT-4 for under $19,000, or a slightly used WRX you want a car that will give you some driving enjoyment. But if you're only interested in a commuter car, then it's not bad. But I would feel totally ripped off if I spent over $14K for it.

I have an 02 OZ thats slow as hell but is soooo much nicer than any other car on the market for that kind of money, I love it! I'm looking into what kind of trade-in value I'd get towards the new ralliart lancer though...if I were you I'd hang in there till the end of the year and see what kind of deals can be made on the Ralliart or what else comes out, etc.

everyone seems to complain that the lancer is slow... its a 4banger... of course its slow, plus when you look at these peoples registries, they have like 200+lbs of stereo equipment in the trunk as well.. makes it even slower! Don't go by what everyone on the boards say, everyone is opinionated towards what they like... test drive everything you can in your price range and decide for yourself... its the only way you will make sure you are happy with what you buy

As some have said, TEST DRIVE, TEST DRIVE, TEST DRIVE.

It's not worth your time or money to go and buy a car based off someone's opinion that you don't know. Test drive the Mazdaspeed, the Lancer, and everything else everyone's throwing at you and decide for yourself.

Where the hell were YOU shopping that someone was selling a non-Evo Lancer of ANY type at $21K?
