New Lancer today..

Hello everyone..well I was in desperate need of a new car, my 94 accord was stolen a little while ago, and I've been having bad luck ever since. Posting the whole story would take pages, but basically, my car was falling apart, so I went out shopping for a car this weekend. I found what seems to be agreat deal on a 2002 Lancer ES. It has 25k miles, I'm getting it for $8995 from Hertz Car Sales. I'm gonna get an extended warranty to 75k miles..its certified, Has a maintenance history and everythign, so I could see there was nothing wrong with it. I'm pretty much secured with the deal, I just have to go back today and sign the papers with a cashier's check and pick it up.
I just thought I'd find a lancer forum first thing today where I could post my questions and everything. Just curious but is there ALOT of difference between the ES..to the OZ rally? It didn't seem like there was too much difference besides cosmetic stuff. ..Also, so far I noticed alot of people posting about adding turbo, or a supercharger to their 2002's, Just curious but is this AFTER some other mods to make the engine stronger, or can the stock engine handle forced induction? Thanks for the help everyone..my name's David.

awww, so if its from hertz that means its an auto? i think its a great deal, but autos in general are limited in potential.

yes, autos have some limitations (I know I have one) but for the most part they are still fun. I am going turbo but the stock tranny cannot really handle over 6 psi of boost where the stock manual can go 10+ in a new clutch. either way welcome to the family.

You can go intercooled it is just more work to get the pipes to fit (and they need to be custom made).

..yeah, I didn't know that all they had was autos till I went there, its a good price, ,but yeah I was disapointed in that too. Suppose it wouldn't be worth it to convert to stick someday eh?
Yeah, I was reading a couple other posts after I posted, I did notice some people being **** about using the search button..maybe its just me but I hate forums where people are hella ridiculous about that kinda thing. I have a theory: If you dont like the thread, dont post in it. Its a very good theory that I use myself, and I have an easy stress free day without ever getting irritated at anyone's questions.
Anyhow thanks for the replies, I'll probably be visiting daily, although right now I might not have much to add, just questions. lol

haha..good thing I have a desk job then. I found this site and ended up surfing around it and looking at posts for about 2 hrs before I got around to registering. Cool stuff. I look forward to having fun with my car which is..wayyyy better looking than my accord. I dont wanna bore you guys with the whole story, but it has no bumpers on it, its in ugly gray primer, caved in near passenger side tail light, not to mention grinding noises when I drive. I got aggrivated anytime I had to go somewhere..hehe. Thanks for the welcoming.

I just did a google search on it, from what came up it seems to be a city somewhere in the UK. Alot of pictures had mountains and snow, and one website said they hosted the winter olympics twice, so I guess Mitsubishi is associated the snow and wintery weather with that color white. Pretty creative I guess.
