Swoosh sound?

I always thought to get that swoosh or pssssshhhttt sound you need a vent to atmosphere BOV. Everyone seems to have different ideas about the way to upgrade my stock one.

Dude, seriously? We are all glad to have another member around here but you aren't going to score many points with the regulars if the only thing you are after is the BOV sound. Take the previous advice and keep the stock IX diverter valve. Check our Buschur Racing for their staged packages, search for your answers on this forum, and enjoy a great ride.

Welcome and good luck.

Yea, diverter valve is the way to go. With the diverter valve, you hold boost but with a BOV, you release all that boost into the atmosphere. The "Swoosh" is all show, no fun in my opinion.

I have the Injen intake & intercooler pipe kit on my car & it makes the diverter valve sound good. Its not loud like a vent to atmosphere BOV, but it sounds good & you don't get any drivabilty issues with it. Don't replace the stock diverter valve. The IX diverter valve is one of the best out there.

Buschur intake kit with cone filter very loud imho. I actually have it i could video it if that was really needed...

VDUBvsEVO:

The Evo 9 is definitely one of the best I would prefer an Evo 6 or 5 myself but they can't be sold easily to the states.

if you want to hear your stock diverter valve...just get a MAF adapter and open element cone filter...

for the exhaust...id go with megan racing if i were you...they offer a full 3" system in either polished or black for stealth...
heres a link to the black catback:

To me, I love that sound... it gets me going... just like a big burly cam in a V8. Excuse me if I want my car to make that pshhhht sound. Plenty of other people out there have cars that make it. To everyone else, I appreciate the advice!

So the IX is the fastest bang for the buck in the generations here in the US for sale?
Plus if I drop 1200 on the best hp parts to get me to do high 10's or low elevens...then which gen and model ?

VDUB your not even posting in the right place. Please post in the correct section.

As far as what evos are worth, check kellybluebook.com and also look on ebay and see what they are going for.

A black ix se is one of the rarest evos you can get. That is a good price for it.

Again, do some of your own research and please post in the right place next time.
