Thumbs up New Guy Here... Save some $

Hey yall, I'm a new Evo owner. Picked up an 06 IX. Recently purchased a K&N drop in filter. Soon would like to buy a BOV and exhaust. Are the cheaper items on ebay still good *exhaust for like $100 plus shipping* or are they junk that will rust apart right away. Greddy, HKS, Tanabe, and all other name brand exhausts, are you just paying for the name or are they really worth the $1,000 compared to the $100 ebay special! Thanks so much guys!

well first off you might want to do some more research and im not being mean, im serious. Search in the forums in here and you'll find out which exhaust is the best bang for the bucks. As far as BOV goes you dont need a new one your metal BOV is really good but eh if you want to get a different one, SELL ME YOURS! Best Mods for you would be a exhaust, Walbro Fuel Pump, Hallman Boost Controller or any other boost controller but i recommend Hallman, and a custom tune or flash. Those are your best bet for any good HP gains for just about 1 grand. If i knew all these things before i started to mod i think i would've been alot more happy than i am now, instead i wasted a bunch of money for nothing.

you have no reason to get a new bov, the one you have now is good, if you want the swoooosh, get a pipe kit.

The stock diverter valve dosen't need replaced, if u need more intake noise buy a new charge pipe! Read and read some more, and then make ur choice.

Evohang, thanks for the advice... I have done lots of research but you can never trust the HP ratings on products. Thats why I asked you guys what you've found in the field. Plus, I don't have oodles of time (little daughter). So, its great I can just post a thread and have advice about my issue. So again, thank you. As far as the BOV, I do want the swoosh sound (one of the reasons I bought a turbo). So is it true I can get something to add on to mine to make it swoosh? Also, as far as tunes go, I've seen reports of 20 to even 60 HP gains on the IX. What have you guys experienced? Thanks again guys!
Brandon

Just buying the cone filter will amplify the sound of the turbo (or so I've read, I don't have personal experience on this). With the cone filter a tune is recommended. As far as the "swoosh" goes, you might want to search the forums and read about recirculating blow off valves or something along those lines (again, I don't have personal experience, I occasionally search random topics and read about them).

Keep the stock bov and get yourself a intake and they will be plenty of sound.
Turbo back exhaust, walbro 255 fuel pump, hallman boost controller, and a flash/tune. You will feel the difference and love the car even more.

Are you talking about the Injen Upper and Lower intake tubes + the intercooler piping? http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...2&cat=2&page=1
