Lookin for 400whp...... What does everyone else think
Not sure if this is the right section, but just saw the " lookin for 330whp" post, and decided, why not just throw it out there. Well, its a TB 03, and my mods are as follows:
- Cometic headgasket
- ARP headstuds
- Brian Crower valve springs and titanium retainers
- Cosworth M2 280/280 cams
- NGK Iridium plugs
- IX turbo
- Mynes tubular manifold
- Megan o2 housing
- Injen intake/licp/uicp kit
- Xs eng. FMIC
- Hallman MBC
- AMS TBE w/testpipe
- Walbro 255lph
- JDM IX DV
- Agency Power solid front motor mount
And some other non-(hp)gaining parts. So basically my question is; Is 400whp, on race gas ofcourse, attainable with this setup? And no, Im not going to quote ppl. Just want opinions. And If not, what other things do I need, or what do I need to swap out? Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks

Tossed it around... Between a good alky kit, race gas, or somethin else... IDK yet. Heres the other thing tho, Im still on my stock clutch
But, ya, my goal is to have a mid-high 11 sec street car

Dynojet. Dont get me wrong tho, Im not building this thing for a fancy dyno sheet. That, and an 11 sec 1/4 mile were just some goals I set for the car before this whole thing got started. Eventually itll be more, I just wana see how much I can squeeze out of the IX turbo, before I go BIG

I've seen stock turbo, full bolt ons, cams, and water/meth make 400+ whp twice, first hand. One ran 11.878, at the closest track to Great Falls MT. Not sure what the altitude is up there. Good luck.

You and I have similar goals! I'm sitting at just over 350AWHP now. I am sure with some good tuning and different cams I can get it up to 400awhp. Contact Chris @ Mellon Tuning, he has done some amazing things with "small" turbos. If memory serves me correctly he was running low low 12's with the stock 16G on his. Of course he went all big baller on us and is running an HTA35R now with all kinds of sick stuff out of the Buschur catalog!

If memory serves me correctly, dont mustang dynos read 15-20% higher, than say a dynojet? So 350awhp on a MD would really be around 400awhp on a DJ...Someone correct me if Im wrong.. But ya, Im lookin to dip into the 11's, even on race gas, since I AM still on a stock clutch
When I blow it up, then Ill upgrade. BTW, is that u Mike? Props on the BAAAAD manifold man
Keep up the good work!

It sounds like you should be in the high 11's now, if you can stop the clutch from sliping. If you are looking for 400awhp on a mustang, you will have to put a bigger turbo on the car. Dyno jet on the other hand you should already be there. good luck. by the way is the car tuned? you didn't mention if it was.

I think with a good tune on the mods that you have, you should be able to hit your objective
BTW, we have a new manifold for the T3 turbo, should be releasing in the next week or so. It's an equal-length 1.5" SS heavy duty mani that retains the AC & Stock FAN

cheers.
