IX daily and clutch question
I use mine as a DD and love every min of it. There is some road noise and transmision noise, but that is what makes the car feel more like a race car. I get around 18-19, taking it easy. When I am playing I get 16-18, but the feeling is SO worth the frequent fill ups. It costs me around 40.00 to fill up. I look at it this way it would cost more than that to fill up a vet and we can eat them for breakfast.
If I were you I would not be so worried about how much gas is but how much the MOD's are going to cost. These get expensive very quiclkly, depending on how bad you get the sickness. Good luck and have fun, by the way find a dealer that will let you take it on the highway. You will really get a feel for it, they take it to a road with a lot of curves. before you get done the test drive you will have your check book out saying where do I sign.

While Evos definitely aren't fuel sippers, if you're worried about gas, you can get decent mileage if you exercise restraint. I've had two Evos, and the best mileage I had gotten on the first one was 25.23 mpg, and the second one got 26.22 mpg... while on both of those particular occasions I was definitely trying to maximize fuel efficiency. But there were even occasions with both Evos where I still got more than decent mileage without trying, like getting 25.37 mpg without trying (being in bumper-to-bumper traffic for over an hour during a three-hour drive with the A/C running half of the time). My overall averages are 20.75 and 22.26 mpg for each Evo, respectively. But obviously the more spirited driving you do, the lower your fuel consumption will be. I still have fun with the car, just only when I want to, as opposed to some other owners to go full throttle at every single stop light and on-ramp.
yeah i checked the post and still cant decide hehe. Ive owned a Red Pontiac grand am and i currenly own a blue impreza. Origionally i wanted to get either WW or TB but i saw some red ones with CF and t their amazing as well. Yellow/Silver doesnt look to bad either.
"So the first thing we noticed when we switched over to the EVO was just how unrefined the car is. It's loud inside; it's rough and uncomfortable; it's just too "mechanical" to be pleasant. And you know what? We love the EVO for being this way. Yeah, it's not perfect for everybody, but it does its job and it does it well.
The doors and trunk feel thin and flimsy and there is almost no sound deadening to speak of. Heavy doors and sound proofing add weight, and as we know, weight is the enemy of a performance car. This "thinness" allows every sound to be clearly heard throughout the cabin. We always know when we're on boost as the turbo whine is louder than the cheap stereo; we can hear the gears of the differentials clattering as they transmit the EVO's 286 horsepower to the car's four wheels; people literally have to yell just to be heard inside this car"
lol i know theres gonna be some noise but their making it sound so bad lol nothing like what some have posted on here.

Here we have fairly smooth highways in most places, and others with rougher pavement. The tires transfer a lot of noise inside the car on the rougher hwy's but it is worth it for as fun to drive as this car is. Plus turn up the radio and it's all good. The rougher freeways remind me of the rattles I have to try to find and fix.

yeah im not too worried about the road noise i would just like to find out how much noise there is. Im coming from a Grand AM and a regular Impreza (makes some road noise with no stereo). Ive never really been in an EVO except an X that i test drove but i know the IX or Vlll are different. The car i get will be shipped to a dealer here so i wont really have a chance to test drive it unless i can find one or somebody who owns one around saint louis.
If you're coming from an Impreza and are looking for a decent daily driver, have you considered the obvious alternative in the STI? Although the debate rages on in a daily basis on the internet, everyone will defer that the STI is a more comfortable, livable daily driver versus the Evo.

yes i have i planned on an STI for so long and almost bought one. But the more i read about the evo the more i like it and i love the moddability and price of modding more than the STI. Plus its an evo lol everyone knows what an evo is theres few people that i know that know what an STI is.
