Spray kit is around $500-600, so I'd say $500-600.

There are tons of options, you can get there on a IX for around $1500 and VIII for around $2200 just depends which parts you go with and how much "bling" you want your parts to have.

It's not the cost of the parts to get there, but actually the stuff you have to fix after you break them.

This is interesting. I was thinking of something like this my self. Just a thought, what if he was talking 400WHP. How does that changes $$$???
Thanks

I'm interested as to why people are saying 320-330WHP = 400BHP. I thought there was a 25% drivetrain loss? I think is how it is on a lot of AWD cars, is the Evo drivetrain more efficient? I figured 300WHP would = 400BHP especially if BHP is HP at the crank WITHOUT any of the accesories (ie. power steering, alt, etc).

If vishnu is saying 400HP is achievable with an (probably conservative) ECU upgrade and some bolt ons... I would think that 300WHP is more accurate for 400BHP. If that's the case and vishnu isn't fudging numbers it looks like 2 grand on an Evo IX will get you 400 brake horse power.

I have had some killer deals on used parts but to do it safely with all the supporting mods I think it would be a little closer to $3000 for used parts.
