if you are running the stock plastic evo 8 bov chances are that its leaking. changing it out to the metal evo 9 bov will allow you to hold the boost you are running without leaking. the gains may not be as significant as a tbe, but the evo 8 plastic bov have been known to start leaking at 10psi.

My particular IX DV started leaking at about 11 PSI. If the guy will be running under 22 PSI, then I don't think that he really needs it. In other words, on an VIII, it's not really needed on pump gas.
