What should i Buy 9 or 10?
i m so confused...i dont if i should buy evo 9 or x..I been going to dealerships to check out both and i m in love w/ the 9, but my parents n sister in the other r telling me that i should get the x because its new. So i just wanted to get some inputs from you guys...please reply w/ useful info and i m sorry if its a repost...thanks for looking
most likely you will see almost everyone telling you to get the ix, since this is the I-IX sub-forum. you really just need to ask yourself what your really looking for in a car. the ix has a lot of after market support where as the x was just released. im waiting another year or so to decide, mainly because i want to see how the x performs in the future.
I say Evo IX. Evo X is definately cool, but its brand new and you'll pay that brand new pricing.
Pick up a nice low mile IX and save a few dollars.
Either way it's a good decision

X will cost around 35K.
IX (gsr) has a suggested RETAIL value of 30,600 w/ 2k miles (kbb.com - 92024zip)
That is 5 grand you can save or use to modify the car Sport Compact Car Magazine named "Greatest Sport Compact of All Time" in October of 2004 (They are refering to the VIII, but still...).
The X is slower in a straight line, (13.8 to the IX's 13.3) of course, modding the will enable quicker 1/4 mile times. At the same time though, you save 5K with the purchase of the IX which, again, can be used toward building an already phenomenal vehicle.
Are you into luxury at all? I would not go as far as to view any car mitsu makes as "luxurious", but as far as creature comforts are concerned, the X would be your choice here (with this "luxury" gross vehicle weight gains insue).
A subjective to say the least... the IX looks better. :-)
I'm in love with the IX as well. Your parents n sister are not the ones who will be driving the car in the end.

Tough call. I was at the stealership today looking at one while mine was being serviced. The X looks really nice in person. Lancershop.com already has quite a few X aftermarket items. GL with your choice, either one is great.
I have heard there may be significant issues with modifying the X... specifically avoid the twin-clutch unit as it is only rated to 350 or so horsepower.
I love my Recaros and my A/C and heat do what they are supposed to, what more creature comforts do I need?
Also, if you cant get your hands on an unmodded IX its warranty will still be in effect for another 3+ years, so its like a new car.
Go with the IX, spend the extra 5 grand on a set of nice rims, some suspension goodies, an exhaust, and some 2-pc rotors and dont look back.
Good luck with your choice!

They're both beasts. It's too early to tell whether the X will outperform the IX. However I say go with the X though because you'll be getting a NEW car with more comforts and ayc and not a USED car. Plus South Coast is selling the X's for cheap.
overall its all about YOU and even though youre saying youre questionable about which one you like youre still leaning towards one of them more than the other...if you can try to test drive both of them and see which one you like better...so far the mods are looking good for the x and looks like theyll continue to do really well with it so well see what happens but it seems like the x is more quiet and doesnt feel as raw as the ix does...i love my ix and wouldnt trade it for the x but it all comes down to what YOU want
Who needs side airbags anyways....
Get a IX and get that un-insulated feel of the road... Hold on to your kidneys going over pot holes an railroad tracks.
Get an X and have your yuppie friends/co-workers/neighbors constantly remind you that it's no 3-series...
