New Guy!

Hey wuts up ppl???? Names Mike, im 20 yrs old...married with a son, and another one coming this October A buddy of mine gave me the link to this site and said it was a really good site for feedback an meeting new people. I have some question and havent had the chance to surf the site to find the right places to ask but ill just ask anyways. Im in the process of trying to buy a used Evo VIII or IX. But i cant seem to find any used car dealerships in my area. I live in Brentwood Long Island. Im willing to travel for the car. So if anyone could give some feed back on this it would be nice. Thanks everyone.

Critic? What ? Dude calm down and take a breather, your too excited.
I'm just saying the evo isn't the ideal family car especially when your young...Just saying that one should take the families thoughts and opinions before financing a pretty wild car. If your that financially stable then I'll stop.

If you can't find any near where you live then I suggest you go to New York or New Jersey. Get an Evo 8 if your looking for a cheaper car, the performance is nil if your going to change the turbo (Unless you care about the Mivec..). Evo 9's will run anywhere from 27-30k+ USED, at least in my area, and it might be more or less there. Go for an 04-05 Evo 8. Do you need HID's? Look at the sticky, it tells you all the specs of each version of the car.

Want a cheaper ride but similar performance? Get an STi. Cheaper insurance (The evo has crazy insurance...especially if your under 21), similar performance, great sounding boxer rumble, and overall better made in terms of quality. I have seen 05-06 STi's go for under 27k... What is drawing you to the Evo? The STi has AWD,Tubo, based off a rally car, etc..

If your looking for AWD I suggest you (The family man) to get an R32. They are going for really cheap, under invoice in some areas because they aren't selling like hotcakes. You dont get that turbo feel but you get probably the sexiest exhaust note ever - http://youtube.com/watch?v=rByDGE8YZnE - It has AWD, leather, a V6 found in the Audi TT, looks sharp, cheaper to insure than both cars, "German engineering" .

Just suggestions.

He does not want your opinion, so stop giving it to him, he wants an evo, and it is a fine famly car, four doors, alot of space in the trunk, AWD, and some gitty up. So wether hes 35 with 18 kids, or 28 with no kids, he wants an evo.

Back on topic, I would try to look at the private for sale section, and see if you find anything on there, and if not, auto trader and put 500 miles from your zip, and im sure you will find somthing. Goodluck on your purchase, and good luck with the new born.

If your looking for any parts I highly recommend Street Tuned Motorsports (stmdsm.com) based in Rochester, NY. Emery can get you anything you want even though it's not on his website, just give him a buzz and ask.

Any pics of the car?

don't rush it either you might get a evo thats been beat to death. my buddy out on long island just picked up a 04 black VIII that had like 32k miles and a HKS exhaust for 20k. took him two months to find, thier out there you just have to find them....it took me six months in bosnia and a auto trader to find mine.
