Need some opinion

Hey wuts going guy need some opinions on what to get. I have couple hundred bucks and cant decide whether to buy some cams or a bigger FMIC . My mods are TBE no cat, o2 Housing, Intake, Fuel pump, Meth, MBC set at 27-28psi and tune. Im in the process of moving to Arizona. ANy opinions will be appreciate.

The cams will likely make the most power that is A TON of boost BTW!

What are your goals?

Both of those mods are going to help your car the FMIC when its gets hot especially.

I'm not sure if they ship to different states, but a local company here in Colorado, Silicone Intake Systems (SIS) make great intercoolers for cheaper than usual.

as for cams..great way to make 30-40+whp :P

what cams are you thinkin of using? 266? 268? 272? 280?

I'm pretty sure 272's are the biggest you can get without needing to do valve springs.

be sure if you install them yourself that you bleed the lifters or you'll get that tapping sound at idle.

Good climate. As far as a couple hundred bucks to spend do you mean $200 Not gonna get you far. Obviosly cams are the next mod because your stock fmic can flow enough at this level. After cams I say fmic upgrade then turbo then injectors

Get the cams, a much better bang for the buck mod. and plus, the fmic should be one of the later mods, the stock fmic should be fine until you upgrade the turbo.

Its my understanding the stock FMIC is good until ~400 hp, obviously if you dont have cams that would be the better choice. I gotta say if your user name is the power your currently making I'm impressed that it is without cams.(maybe its because you have a 9)

You can get 280 cams it just depends on what the manufacturer suggests as far as valve springs goes, With Comp cams being the biggest possible on stock springs. Check out out the engine turbo drivetrain section there is a cam spec sticky with all of the information you will need.

I'd say go with 272/272 cams. Pretty good power gains, and you can use the stock valvetrain if you use the stock rev limiter. Anything past that and I'd recommend new valvetrain.

I just put in BC 272's in my Talon. Idle sounds beastly and it picked up a lot of top end.

running that much boost on the stock turbo? thats alot. Id go with the cams.

U're be happier with cams for now then FMIC.

He has meth, 27-28psi is fine. My friend run 30psi with just i/e n meth. Everything else is stock, 9 MR.
