where do u go for oil changes?

just wondering where everyone goes?

i use to go to the dealership but thats ending. my dealership f***ed up my car, so now i have no choice but looking elsewhere for service...

someone mentioned something about washers? these have to get done for every oil change?

Moved. Regarding the crush washers, yes, those should be changed every time the drain plug is removed.

I change mine myself. Its a 10 minute process, and anyone with any kind of mechanical knowledge can do it.

Definitely get yourself a set of ramps for 30 bucks and have someone teach you how easy it is. When you realize how much most places rip you off to change your oil you will never let someone else do it again.

BTW, the crush washers come packaged with the oil filters when I bought some from the dealer.

I see you're NJ.

I change my own oil and do most of the typical maintenance myself but if I have anything serious the I'd go to either to Sean Ivey's shop (Ivey Technologies) or Dog Box Racing (of which I've heard nothing but positive from local Evo owners).

I wish AMS and Buschur were closer to have even more options.

I personally don't let other people touch my car unless I'm positive they'll do a nice job. I've had dealerships work on my car and I'd look under the hood and find loose bolts. washer laying on the windshield cowl...

A good % of mechanics are lazy bums, be picky about who you bring your car to.
