I just bought an 03 evo with 41k on it are there any suggestions as to maintence etc. The previous owner installed a Apexi avcr conroller any tips on opetation or programing would be helpful. Also I want to get a new shift knob but I dont know the dimensions of the shifter.

Knoxville, huh? I have family in Oak Ridge and Harriman. Used to have great-grandparents in Oliver Springs but they past away.

Sorry about that...to the OP, check out lancershop.com. They have a bunch of shiftknobs that will fit no problem.

The AVC-R is a great, but complicated unit. I'd do a search in the How To part of the forum and see if theres anything there. I know theres one for the Greddy Profec B Spec II.

As far as maintinence I'd go ahead and change the drive train fluids (transmission, transfer case and rear diff). The transfer case and rear diff use the same fluids and the transfer case should be done every 15k and the rear diff every 30k. The trans. uses a different fluid and should be done around 20k at least. Also only use OEM fluids. Lancershop carries all the stuff you need as well.

Welcome and enjoy the car!
