Yea I def wouldnt say that any VVT is garbage. It makes the car breath alot better on the top end which = more power

 

I like the gearing of the VIII 5spd better, but other than that the Evo IX is better for bolt-ons and cams. I think if you're going big turbo and built motor then the advantages of either become minute.

 

I would buy any car (VIII or IX) that is clean, well maintained, and low mileage. That would be my primary factor over the small differences of MIVEC and wheels and colored lights and such.

 

go with the IX or save the money, buy in 8 and do lsd,turbo,suspension-tuning=drag race

 

2003 evo 8 with no sunroof or ACD because I have one and theres a reason why I chose it.

I didn't buy a 9 because I couldn't see myself buying a brand new evo for 30+g when I could buy my 03 8 for 24g with only 20k miles on it. I didn't think the extra 10g for mivec and turbo was at all worth it when I was going to be modding anyways.

IX guys will say IX, VIII guys will say VIII and X guys will say X lol 9's are cool but I still rather an 8 because its what I have and it gets the job done right.

 

I always thought the sunroof was standard on 03's? Every 03 I've seen has had one.

IX Looks better IMO, MIVEC (every bit of power you can get ehy not?), ACD, better turbo, and nicer interior

yeah thats a pretty stupid comment. obviously, the VIII has been out longer so all the shops bought that and have made and/or broken records.

 

I would buy the 9 SE, 5 speed is a little stonger, has the MIVEC and the updated coolant passages through the head and the front clip is just straight sexy!

the VIII front bumper is just fugly...easy enough to change though.
