powder coating

I ran a search but could not find anything. What is powdercoating? Is it just painting the rims with the color of your choice? Is powder coating reliable, long lasting? Sorry for the newb post

Hi

I think powder coating is usually done on heat emitting parts like headers to protect from thermal fatigue. Plugs, wires, fan motors, water pumps and other heat-sensitive parts get a break, too, in a cooler environment. Not sure bout rims though.

Here r a couple of sites you might want to visit:

http://www.prestigepowder.com/Peformance_Coatings.html
http://www.jet-hot.com/
http://www.olycoatings.com/thermo.html

Hope this helps!

Ben
