Fairly new Evo owner here.
Hey guys. Picked up my Tarmac Black Evo 8 in March but am just now getting around to posting because I had some trouble getting on the forum. My previous car was a Mazdaspeed Protege which I built myself and dumped too much money into. At my age it just doesn't make sense to keep doing that so I decided to buy a car with a few things already done to it.
I live in Charlottesville, Va and made the 6 hr drive to NE Pennsylvannia to pick up member "smackdaddy"s car which I feel was a solid buy. Car has a BR 3065 kit, BR 3" exhaust, AMS front mount, Logic Perf IC piping, Forge bpv, Walboro 255, 880cc injectors, ARP headstuds, HKS 272's, HKS cam gears, ShepRacing tranny, Exedy Twin Plate HD to name the exciting stuff.
Car made 354 whp 317 ft/lbs at DTM after a retune. Thought that was at 24 psi since my Greddy EBC said so. After recently installing a Prosport boost gauge looks like I'm around 20 psi. This car is very much a straight line car. I autocrossed it once and that was a chore with the lag. I've been autocrossing for about 4 years now and finally am getting into HPDE. I'd love to get the Evo out on VIR or Summit but it's a little too much car for me right now. So luckily my Dad let's me drive his 04 STi which has some basic mods and is more oriented to turn than simply go straight. I've taken the Evo to the drag strip a couple times but didn't have the best tune before and the clutch wasn't fully engaging so no times worth mentioning yet. I'm going to the strip again Friday so I'll get back to you on that haha.
I've already changed a few things here and there, comments questions welcome, criticism...bring it on.
Hope this forum treats me as well as the Mazda forum did. See you guys around.

Nice evo goodluck with it.The mods that came on the car is the best quality you can buy,but you can make alot more power with that setup make sure that the gauge your using is mech not elect before you set at 24 psi.Find out who flash tuned the car very important before raising the boost up, you don't want to blow the motor. If i you can get the car on the dyno and get data loged for everything including knock, and air fuel ratio, before you do anything else to it,for 200 dollars you would be on the safe side.
