I have the money to buy both, but honeslty what do you all think would be the better choose

i don't like the 9's front bumper but that could easily be changed.

If it helps at all which do you think would be the best daily driver?

i like the 8s better they look way nicer and u culd pick a nice one up for cheap and with the money u saved make it as fast if not faster than a 9 both are good dd though both of mine r just do regular maintenance and they'll run like champs forever

 

If you have the money to choose, i would say go with the IX... the VIII will be a bit older and prolly with more miles on it, and if im not wrong the IX comes with a few more whp stock (correct me if im wrong).

9 cause you'll get more power from bolts on than a 8. I had the same problem before. So I decided to pick up a 9 this friday =] Goodluck.

 

Then buy both.

 

what is the difference between the evo 8 and 9, besides the front bumper

 

-Evo 9 has MIVEC, different front bumper, different interior, better fuel pump, bigger turbo, and different wheels.

 

the difference between a low mile 8 and a low mile 9 would get you plenty of mods , I 'd say go for IX if you can find a good deal but 8 would be readily available

 

+ the trans is different the wing is "hollow" and the inside is body color the piston rings are different also i guess the steering wheel falls into the interior also i think thats it!?

 

I personally like the 9's aesthetic differences over the 8's so the extra difference would be worth the increased price of a 9. (Extra Hp helps as well)

If you don't like the 9's front bumper cover, I would seriously consider buying an 8. The slight power advantage of the 9's can easily be made up with mods that would cost far less than diffrence between an 8 and 9.

 

You might even be able to get an IX thats still under "warranty" <-- if mitsubishi decided to cover it

If you get an VIII, grab an 05. Less differences between those and the IX.
