giving my opinion and disregarding stuff above. i have a 5-speed and have driven extensively my friends 6-speed.

The evo 6-speed works just fine but doesn't feel right like a honda or bmw 6-speed.
i feel like the 5-6 gates are pushed closer to the 3-4 gates than the 1-2gates are in relation to 3-4. that doesn't inspire confidence in me like the other cars i mentioned with 6-speeds. for that reason i purchased the 5-speed.
THe evo 5-speed feels like a normal 5-speed. works fine and feels great.

I prefer the 5 spd of a 1st and 2nd gen DSM to be honest cause the gears are so damn short. I know the car is actually meant to be more of a rally car but the 4g63 doesn't need any help in the torque department. Stock evo can run about 120 in 4th to 7000rpm and in a 1st gen DSM you can hit about 150+!
Back to evo's though. I've seen videos of 6 spd evos and they have to shift so many times it seems like in a race you gotta worry even more about missing a gear.
