Where to jack up the front of car?

I did a search and saw numerous threads about a jack point at the front of the car under that's some plastic trim, however, when I had my car up on ramps, I saw another possible spot. I just wanted to check to make sure it was a safe to use. I circled the spot in the picture below. It's right near/on the front axel.

Thanks!
Brian

you can use the jack points recommended in the owners manual...under each front and rear door...or if you have the undertray off, you can jack it up near the tow hook.

Don't forget to use jack stands....I have had 2 jacks literally "break" on me, and i woulda been a gonner if it weren't for the jack stands.

hey OP, the spot you circled is right behind the 2nd lower tie bar right? if that is the case, that is NOT safe. stick with the service manual's location

kinda off topic but relates. i tried to put my car on ramps the other day, I have a se so the Lip was unable to make it up the ramp. I was going to try the jack, but it looks tricky and unsafe, anyone know of any ramps that will fit an evo se lip that is on stock height, for fluid changes, etc. thanks in advance~!

I must be retarded or something, but that picture looks to me like it is lifting the front by the tow hook. And when I look at the big picture and the blown up picture, they don't seem to match up. I stuck my head under the car with the flap off, and I still do not understand

Can someone post a picture of the point where the jack goes? Mine is a IX, though I don't think that makes a difference

always pay attention when jacking the car... if you hear something crushing thats not good.. Sometimes the pinch wall where the manufacturer states is a proper lift point isnt the best place. You dont want crushed pinch walls... save those for emergencies

Place a block of 2 x 2 wood between your tires and the ramps before moving your car up the ramps. That's how I do it and it works.

I just use http://rhinoramps.com/8000.html

I got them at Auto Zone or Wal-Mart or something, I can't remember where exactly.

My lip touches them just as the car is about to go up, but only on the bottom of it. The race ramps are probably a better fit, but mine were about $150 cheaper. =p
