I think you answered your own question. Up in the NW (washington particularly) you'd think that Subaru was the offical state car. They're everywhere and there's a reason for it.

get the evo

My previous car was a modded Mach1. I hated driving in the rain because the rear end would break loose at the drop of a hat and thats scary. I'm completely happy with my Evo. We don't have snow this far down in Texas, but the rain sucks. I say get the Evo, you won't be dissapointed.

I see it like this... IF you buy a RWD that can match the performance of an Evo stock vs. stock you are doing something.... once you take the first turn, all of those other cars will be in your rear view trying to hold the corner. The Evo out performs any rwd in it's price range and most of those that are not. It's a no nonsense car that lets you know it's purpose when you sit in it. If you want a comfortable ride that gets good mpg, look elsewhere ( although the Evo doesn't do to bad on gas if you drive it easy ) If you want a pure machine that is like a pitbull on crack... get the Evo.

See I find it to be a huge PITA when you wake up looking forward to driving your car and oh snap it's damp or wet... or youre expecting bad weather. Then you can't or you have to baby it in the on ramp corner or with white knuckles in case you lose it and bite a guard rail
