Did the Evo X hurt the 9's Resale
But do you think it will stay that way? I mean yes the 4g63 is a cast iron block. Capable of bigger HP figures without a doubt, But the X has been proven to be more nimble and quicker around a track "Stock Trim"
All im saying is how many evo owners do you think are looking for 400+ WHP i mean sure you and i would love that but if you look at the majority of the people i believe most would only feel comfortable doing light mods such as TBE intake Tune.
And correct me if im wrong but from what im hearing there having good results with power on the X with simple bolt ons.
Myself when it comes time ill probably be looking for a 9 not a X but im just saying to the average buyer it seems like the X would be worth the upgrade.

I just picked up my VIII for 18k with 57k and bolt on's. You can prob pick up a 9 with low miles for like 26k-28k. Even with the new evo and all the new things it has I would still rather have a 7-9 evo. But that's just me
I think the release of the X will only make the prices of the IX and VIII go up. Its more of a performance feeling car, closer to its origins.
"But the X has been proven to be more nimble and quicker around a track "Stock Trim"" - v8<turbo4
^Dont get me wrong, i'm not trying to start an EVO IX vs X debate, but every timed "stock trim"comparrison shows the X to be slower around the track. Maybe you could post a link to prove me otherwise cause i'm curious to find the truth.
This is what I saw comparing the 2 in stock form

ok so i went to check out the x's and a sales guy told me he'll give me the exact same price i payed for it even though i have 15K, if i traded it for a x, since he said he had a list of people looking for IX, but thats my experience
I think the ix will go up in value.
Watch the ix spank a both versions of the x an sti, and a G37
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/E...STi_153206.htm Sorry the video is gone it was a Japanese car show and the ix was much faster around the track then the x SST and manual trans. I think the magazines are bending the truth to help current production model sales
I was waiting for the x because I liked the looks better. It is less boy racer, but in October I read C&D, and motor trends early tests and bought a ix fast before people figured out the ix was the best ever. I had the choice and picked the ix. I wish the ix had the AYC, but the early articles said that the new car was more refined, and less go cart like. The articles said the ix was more fun to drive, and that the evo faithful would be disappointed, but the general population would prefer it. Now all the magazines are drinking the cool-aid. As a daily driver that never goes to the track I am never pushing the limit of lateral G force, but I do accelerate from lights, and past cars, so I'll take fast in a straight line, with a well tested power plant. If I do go to a track it will be for the fun of driving, so again the ix wins. I also will not drive auto, and I wanted the 6 speed (The Chevy is my wifes).
