Noob Question
I have an Evo IX MR with a little over 3,000 miles with only a K&N drop in filter. I live in a small city where 30-45mph is the average speed on the main roads and 20 mph on residential roads and alot of stop and go's. My question is...how often can I drive out on a long stretch of road and JAM my car to blow out all of the carbon that I must be collecting by driving in the city? And at what RPM range can I rev it to without hurting my engine? Any help would be great!
...what kind of boob........oh, I meant what kind off noob question is that? Just floor it and you'll get all the butterflies out of you man.
I think he's just screwing with our minds...

Noob Question
Sorry for the confusion on my last post... I just wanted to know how often I can drive my car HARD without hurting my engine. My car is bone stock with only a K&N drop in filter and I bought my car brand new so I just want to be careful with it.

Why do you think you are accumulating an appreciable amount of "carbon" through your intake? You live in a small town in Arkansas which means you probably have some of the cleanest air out of anyone here.

Until your warranty runs out....Dont go around and redline it all the time, you'll blow something up. But on an open road, get on it, it can take it.
You want to make sure you don't do anything that will affect your factory warranty. Open that thing up on a open road though. Just don't redline often until you get more mods and a good tune!
+1 on that. Just don't launch the car from a standing still and drive train should be able to handle the stress. No off the line pulls your not driving a 2 wheel drive, the clutch will be gone in less 5000 miles.
If you can get a base flash and try to find someone in your area with a Tactrix cable or a EvoScan cable to install the flash. Remember to save your original map and get your immobilizer code.
