I was going to ask the same damn question. I doubt he even bought it. I sure as hell would feel dumb not knowing what I spent 30k+ on...



Also, alot of you are saying "Check if it says MIVEC" or "what does the bumber look like?" People can change those things so thats no indication as to what it really is.

The only way to know for sure is to run the VIN off the car....

 

^ Word run the vin. There are sooooo many teltale signs though. Seats, wheels, tail lights, valve cover, bumper, seats, ect...

Come on people lets give the new guy a break! He obviously wanted something nice and he found it! LOL We where all new to the car at one point or another, he just bought one before he new anything. It will be steep learning curve!

Alright...alright I know it may seem dumb and look like I bought a car that I didn't know what it was. I did by the car and I was very confident that it was an 8. but the guy who wrote the paperwork put that it was a 9. Also I did check the engine bay and it doesn't say Mivec on it. So I'm sure now that it is an 8. And I did do the vin search thing and all it said was Lancer Evolution. Nothing more. I know the car is an evo there's no denying that. I'm not an idiot and am not knew to the car scene. I just was double checking and wanted to get your guys opinion on my car. Those of you who took it easy on me, I thank you for your patience with me. To the others, please be patient with an american muscle guy lol. I traded in my 2006 mustang gt for this car so I'm still getting used to and learning everything about this car.

well your fortunate enough to get the better VIII. I mean you have the larger hotside (10.5), a little more HP and you have the "luxury" package (SSL)...

be safe and find your boundries when nobody is around you in a safe enviroment...

 

a good way to tell is if the grill just has a metal Mitsu logo or a triangle shape then then logo on that but yea 05 is 8.

 

nah it was rite as "sun, sound, and leather" because it was the option for the sunroof too...

 

Yeah, def. VIII. But SSL w/ vortex generator ? I thought only IX MRs had those.
