This may be in the wrong section but I just got my new vortex generator in the mail but it was ordered by the dealership that I bought the car from. The problem is it didn't have the adhesive strips on the bottom to secure them to the roof. My question is if I can pick some two sided tape from the local parts store or is there a specific type I need to pick up. I want to install it but I can't without that adhesive. Thanks.

 

Any Adhesive strip will work , just dont get a cheapo brand

 

Factory use 3M Automotive adhesive tape. Its a gray colored tape with a red plastic protective strip that you peel off. You can buy it at any Auto/hardware store.

As stated above. Make sure you clean everything well with rubbing alcohol. Place tape a 1/8 inch away from the edge on the v.g.

 

I will but I actually have to get the roof repainted. When I found the car online it already had the VG but when I went to pick it up it was gone. I didn't notice until I was on my way back actually. So ya it's been aggravating trying to get the dealership, which was a Mitsubishi dealership btw, to get the part to me. The reason I need it repainted is because whoever took it off did so in a not so nice manner. They scratched the roof pretty good down in the weather stripping groove. I'm not paying to get it fixed though. The dealership said they would pay to have that fixed and have the part installed.
