Exhuast Questions.

Hey guys, before i say anything i want to thank you all for responses! U GUYS ARE AWSOME!

HOKeh here my noob question;

I dont mind much about performance, but I love the sound of a deep loud exhuast. For this reason I bought a N1 muffler tip that was welded onto my stock setup, the old tip was cut. NOW, i want to make my exhaust sound louder, but I dont know the difference between a catback and just a tip. I mean, i have searched and found that a catback includes piping and the tip vs. the muffler tip that i have. But does that reallly make a difference in sound and volume?

All i want is for the volume to get louder, and i still want to pass a california emissions test. SO what do I need to do? I want this thing loud, but not ****i sounding like a Harley motorcycle i want a nice ricer tone, but loud,not the fart rocekt sound, but the nice deep tone that dosnt grumble. do i need to get rid of a catilac? I have 2 apperently*or so i think* that run to the exhaust.

i need ur guyz help! So please give me your best recommendation!

thankyou!

get a downpipe with a highflow cat, it'll sound really nice and you can still pass emissions. your downpipe will connect to your cat-back which connects to your muffler. oh and you DP connects to your turbo

Exhaust

even if you leave the stock cat on, you can just add headers catback and an intake system. that will give you a nice deep sound, thats he set up i have anyways..

a 3 inch down pipe and a high flow cat will help or a full catback, not just tip

changing the tip doesnt affect sound. the diameter of the pipes that carry the exhaust gases (which makes the noise) will still be the same.

Get a full 3 inch turboback exhaust. The AMS 3 inch turboback with the test pipe should do the job perfectly for you. It sounds awesome, looks spectacular, and the quality is superb. it's not too loud, but it is one of the louder exhaust systems for the Evo. I've heard that the AMS sounds so good at wide open throttle....But there's still nothing that sounds like my set-up....The Trust Ti-R with the DC Sports downpipe with the cat-delete. Now that's what I'm talking about.

.......Oh, I just read that you have a lancer OZ. I'm not sure about the exhaust on that, but if you ever decide to go with an Evo, then you know my advice. Good luck!
