newbie intro from Dubai

Hi everyone,

Ive been on here for a little while now, mostly just looking through the threads and vast amount of very useful information.

But I thought it was about time I introduced myself,

im English but live in Dubai, UAE and have done for nearly 15 years, an avid motorsport enthusiast, anything that has an engine ive either got or have had at some point

currently driving a 2007 EVO 9 GSR. here's a couple pics of my ride. (which is better though, stock or carbon bonnet?)

I don't like Carbon too much, but it suits your Evo since it matches the black wheels. Your Evo looks nice.....but don't forget to tint your windows...It made my Evo look much better. I've been to Dubai a long time ago. I look Middle Eastern, but my family is originally form Bangladesh (or you could say India/Pakistan). I'm born in Texas though. Nice to see your post. Your Evo is very cool!!!

^ thanks man, these pics were taken a couple of months ago, since then the windows have been tinted, 30% all round, except the front of course. going to be changing the wheels within the next couple of months also, not sure what to go with yet, I saw an evo on here with gold rims, which looked awesome, or could go with black again. not sure, either way they will be 18' and the car will be lowered.
Yeah Dubai's a pretty cool place, there's quite a good motorcport ollowing here now with a few local forums and quite a few evo owners aswell....

^ the hood is charge speed i seem to recall, its on a friends car at the moment for a show so cant check, but pretty sure it its charge speed.

The finish on the top which you can see is very good, but underneath could be a lot better, not that it matters as non of it can be seen anyway, just thought i'd let you know.

Not sure if they make it anymore as this one is about 18months old.

Dubai eh? Very cool! I Just spent 3 weeks there a few months ago.

My girlfriends parents live along the Corneiche (spelling?) in Abu Dhabi. Do yourself a favor and go to the Dubai track, pay $250 USD and drive the track with full instruction for half an hour. (your choice of Audi TT, STi, RS4, R8, Open wheel racer, etc etc.) Very cool experience!

I plan on moving there. We will need to get together if I make it over there so you can get me into the scene!

I'm a radio announcer in Canada, and I plan on trying to work with Virgin, or Radio 1 or 2 in the future in Dubai / Abu Dhabi.

Cheers!

There's plenty of sweet cars around thats for sure. it doesnt take long to spot a few million dollars of pure drving pleasure!

one step ahead of you bud, been to the track many times, driven the audi's there and also got to experience a full day thrashing the full 2008 range of porsche's, there really getting things together now aswell organising track evenings and other race events. Radio sounds good, its about time we had some decent dj's here, although most of them start good and all end up sounding the same, so dont fall into that trap!!

as far as things go i'd say try and get into Dubai at the moment, abu dhabi is about 10yrs behind in terms of culture/nightlife etc. so Dubai's definately the happening place right now

Im going to be looking at lowering it and getting coilovers, so its only a matter of time really, will do the wheels at the same time and buy it all as a package.

just as a quick question,I know there's millions of threads on here about it, but what coilovers would you recommend? were limited over here to choice, but i would look at shipping from the states to get something better.

Absolutely zero changes as far as I know. but I do believe this car was in the last batch of 9's to be made and comparing it to 9's from the previous year there doesnt seem to be any difference (that we can find anyway)
