ok i just purchased an 06 eb evo 9...thanks for the congrats beforehand but on to the questions

1) the car is 06 with 24k miles on it...are these warranties still in effect (finance manager says only the bumper-to-bumper is)?

Basic: 5 yr. / 60,000 mi.
Drivetrain: 10 yr. / 100,000 mi.
Roadside: 5 yr. / Unlimited mi.
Rust: 7 yr. / 100,000 mi.

and the basic warranty...what exactly does that cover?

2) the dealership is offering an extended warranty for 6/100k for $1700 with no deductible and $1500 with a $100 deductible. the finance manager told me that only the basic warranty is in effect (no drivetrain, etc). so is he lying? and is this extended warranty worth it? to me it doesn't...

i need to know what i'm gonna do about the warranty by tomorrow so a little help from the fellow evo community?

thx in advance

Basically what they are saying is if you plan to as much as mod the windshield wipers... do not buy the extended warranty.

Yea exactly ^^^^

Mitsubish will void your warranty for any reason they can find. Even an aftermarket radio and your out of luck. Also why is the drivetrain warranty out? and why would they extend the warranty if your drivetrain warranty was already voided. imo it sounds like he is just trying to make a sale.

And i wouldnt even bother getting a warranty I doubt you will actually benefit from having one

The default warranties timelines change when you're not the original owner... though they do transfer. For instance, the 10 year 100k mile warranty goes to 5 year / 60k miles.

^------ See above about 10 year 100k, unless he's the first owner... it downgrades to 5 year 60k miles.

Even if it did change to 5 year/60k miles it would still be under warranty so that doesnt even point out the reason why his warranty would be voided. I would call mitsubishi with your vin number and tell them to check if your still warrantied.
