Evo for me or not?
#1 - If you have to ask, an EVO is not your cup of tea. EVOs are only for confident, decisive, performance car enthusiasts.
#2 - You feel "nervous". An EVO should only make you nervous if you are driving an STI and attempting to race said EVO.
#3 - You currently drive a Cherokee. Nuff said.
If you are sincerely interested in a vehicle upgrade, may I suggest a Cherokee SRT-8.

its going to be a rough ride esp since you are in NYC. I'm in nyc also and roads are terrible. Get ready for a bumpy ride. Its just my weekend warrior. I would not want it to be my dd. Good luck.
I dont know i found one though. I will def make sure its a mr. I can afford the payments n the insurance I am just worried about the reliability and how well its made. I hear alot about interior rattling and bad trannies. I mean your guys prob paid alot of cash for these cars! Is it worth it or should I buy a nice reliable Accord or something. Are any of you bored? I am 27 and am not going to be looking to drag race down the strip every Thurs. night.
Half of you people are complete morons! I am asking simple advice on whether or not the car is reliable ex. tranny problems, rattling interiors, premature clutch wear, Drivetrain problems, those kinda of things. These cars cost some serious cash, my mom isn't paying for it. I am asking if people regret buying these cars due to those problems. Just because I drive a Cherokee at the moment and I suggested maybe buying something more reliable because I don't want to be working for a car for a living does not mean 1. I am going to kill myself (this is for the retart on top of me) by the way I use to track sport bikes for fun so i don't think I am going to kill myself 2. I know what an evo is I have been doing my research for several months. By the remarks you just made u sound like a real tool. Keep your stupid comments to yourself I am asking for opinions, if u can't give a descent one than save your time n don't type it in.

Get it! Worth it!
Yes I have driven 3 of them and I got a rush every time. What kinda of maintainance does it cost. Depending on what tires I figured it will cost me around 600 bucks for descent ones, brake pads I am assuming will cost me 250 the labor I can do, then the oil changes are typical for any car, what else beside the drive train and differential fluid will be maintenance. What mileage is too high for me to purchased used???
dont come on here asking for readily available info on reliabilty ect and then call people morons for expressing their opinions.
i might be of some help as i had 3 jeeps before my evo. if youre looking for something "reliable" and "rattle free" as you say, then maybe that nice sensible honda accord is up your alley. yes evos are entirely reliable, especially in stock form. a simple search would show threads of several 100k+ evos ect. there are also some very highly modified evos running around with 50k or more at this point too. a car is as reliable as the person maintaining it.
oil changes, tires ect all add up. so be ready. you cant go to jiffy lube for the $20 oil change like your jeep. and dont think youre going to walk into pep boys for brake pads either.
besides that, there is nothing to be worried about, but obviously, your lack of research and knowlegde of this car leads me to believe that you might be better off in something less demanding.

How well is it made better than the typical lancer?
