I jus finally recieved my uppipe and HKS blow off valve and im jus wondering do i need to buy a recirculating kit as well for it?! If i dont need the kit wat am i gonna need then/ cuz i belive the kit comes wit the clamps and everything to block the stock bov

deff. get the recirtkit..or best advise i could give you is sell that bov and get the stock IX bov. that bov will cause some issues in the future.

 

if i were you i would get a recirculating kit but really its a personal preference....when i first got my evo the bov wasnt recirculated and the idle was a lil ruff and plus the ecu has presets in the map to compensate for the extra air venting from the bov entering the turbo from the intake...this is why i recirculated it..it fixed my idle problems but wasnt as loud..oh well...i'll be getting the aps bov twin vent in the future....

well guy i have the HKS BOV and have it on Vent mode for a year now. but i just purchased the recirc kit and planning to install it but i wanted to know will it 100% recirc or it will spit some extra air to atmosphere?
am runinning 22psi
any disadvantages when recirc?

 

No, your car will actually run properly with your BOV recirculating.

 

junk looking upper pipe dont look all that and the BOV is total junk just sell it, get like AMS ETS OR BUSCHUR with TIAL OR STOCK IX BOV

 

the problem is all of my cars piping is HKS :S
but will the HKS recirculate 100% of the air?

 

Listen to the other evom members the HKS BOV is probably the worst bov you can get for your evo but your money.

 

evo 9 BOV. Mine holds 27 psi with no problem at all and works at low boost also. Leave the loud BOV's for the WRX and SRT-4's lol

 

This has all been answered tons and tons of times in the Newbie section! Where at 10 posts and 2 posts, that's exactly where you should be searching, not posting.

 

even if you recirculate it will continue to flutter and not hold appropriate boost levels. stick with the 9 DV.

I would take power over sound any given day

 

like i said,get the ix DV.if you want a little "SWOOOOOOOSHSHHSHHSHSHSHSH" sound,K&N drop in or open air filter and call it a day.sell the HKS SSQ to a friend and break even

 

Get rid of that thing unless you like stalling at every stop light,if you are running more then 28 psi then use it and buy a rec kit if not just do your self a favor and save your self the headaches and buy a evo 9 d.v. and you'll be good to go hks doesn't make the best b.o.v for the evo's forge is really good or tial.
