Oil filter sits low w/ adapter plate. Solutions??

I installed the oil filter adapter plate and it seems as though the filter is too low to the ground. I checked on it today and there was a dent on the front edge of the filter.

I'm getting kind of paranoid about hitting something and loosing oil. Anyone have any solutions/tips to prevent something like this happening??

You can use a few filter options, M108 or M110 if we are talking Mobil 1 filters. One is taller than the other. No issues from running either one though in normal oil change intervals.

I'm using the M110 filter. I'm not even sure if the dent was from me hitting it or something hitting it while driving.

I don't remember it when I was hand tightening it. It's been a week and I've been checking it for oil leaks and just today I noticed the dent.

I cant remember of the top of my head - the M110 is the longer one over the M108.

I'll go check it out at autozone in a bit. Is the M108 shorter and wider then?

Ok just confirmed this, the M108 filter is 1inch shorter at 2.5in, than the M110, 3.5in.

Thanks SmikeEvo for the info.
