Oil block adapter
Oil block adapter
Does anyone have the oil pressure gauge on your evo? My car just got a oil pressure gauge setup. But on the oil filter I need put a oil block adapter for the gauge sensor. Then the oil filter is freaking low to the ground. Then I have to raise my car a little bit and it looks horrible. I am just wondering whether there is a solution for that.
there is an allen screw above the oil filter on from the factory you can use. theres an install on here somewhere that shows the location. i recomend the ams remote sensor line because the brass fittings will crack due to the vibrations of the engine.
See the two allen plug Evoxsi is talking about, you should remove those, and then pick up and adapter for the sensor. I got my adapter from 42 Draft Designs. Be careful removing the plugs. There is locktite in there, and requires you to heat it up before removal. It was that hard though.
would both of the allen head ports register the same oil pressure? or are they pre/post oil filter? I would like to run my AEM oil pressure gauge but I am also running a FP oil supply kit to my FP black off one of those ports.
Use one of those ports, and definitely without question get the ams sender unit. I just put mine in about 2 weeks ago. I didn't have to heat them like the other poster mentioned. Just use a breaker bar.
I don't know if either of them matter for pressure, personally I was recommended to put it on the one above the filter (for fitment). Not sure if you'd get different results or not. My guess is no.

I don't recommend a sandwich adapter, they are prone to leaks and so on.
Go with the plug method as mentioned above.
