Oil temp and pressure gauge install?

I have read the how-to's and am still confused on what fitting/adapter I am suppose to get. I am talking about the ones you would put next to your oil filter for the senders.

Here is the install: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=108819

Just wondering where I would get the fitting and which one is the correct one?

Is that where you all got it? I dont want to order it online and have to wait for shipping if I could just go to the local hardware store and pick one up, but I heard that home depot doesnt carry them?

Yep I ordered both. They just got them in stock about two weeks ago. Give them a call to find out if they have anymore in stock. Or PM 2kjettaguy and ask.

You won't be able to get these locally since you need 3/8" BSPT to screw into the filter.

The threads are not NPT, they are BSPT.

The thread pitch is different. On a 3/8 fitting there are 28 threads per inch on BSPT versus 27 threads per inch. If you use NPT you will bugger up the threads.

I used 3/8 BSPT to 1/8 BSPP reducer for each -- oil pressure and temperature.
http://www.mcmaster.com/nav/enter.as...692&pagenum=20

One had to be drilled out slightly to allow for the oil temp sender to pass through.

Note: The difference between BSPT and BSPP is that the T in BSPT stands for Taper. The BSPP fitting does not taper but it does seal well and has the correct thread pitch.
