Questions on AMS REMOTE OIL PRESSURE SENDING UNIT LINE

Couple questions regarding this ams oil pressure sending line. Did a some research on installing my gauges, people pointed out you shouldn't use sandwich plates and also should not install it off the oil filter housing using 8mm hex screw in the oil filter housing.

Basically what I'd like to do is install it there { 8mm hex screw on the oil filter housing}. But from my research and ams site doesn't really tell where you can install it. I know there's a couple other places you can and could. Just want to make sure the fittings would work where that hex screw is located. Figured that line should be long enough to hide it in the engine bay and never have to worry.

Thanks in advanced on future replys.

As long as your not using a Defi gauge, then what I have is 42DraftDesigns make a fitting that is the exact threading needed for our Evo oil filter housing, you can take the plug out and replace it with this fitting and then run your remote line to your sensor, mount the sensor on the firewall then run the cable into the car to your gauge.

Sorry OP, kinda off topic but asking the person above.

Is there anything wrong with using Def Oil Pressure gauge compared to lets say aem? Is there a different process of installing it compared to other brands? Im thinking about getting one.

Nothing wrong with using Defi but I think that the fitting I suggested simply won't work with the defi sensor that's all , Defi and AEM are the top brands , I use AEM

^ Fact, I have the Defi oil pressure gauge so I bought the AMS remote line, fitting doesn't work, I have to get the appropriate one to make it work now.

Currently have the sensor in the sandwich plate.

If your going to be using AEM your good , I ordered the fitting from that website because it's the correct threading size where as most people just pipe thread aems sensor and shove it into our oil filter housing , now it does thread in but it's still not the correct threading. So that leaves the chance of it failing , using that fitting and the remote line is your best chance of accurate readings and performance from the sensor

There's a couple different fittings on that site. Which to buy? So this setup will work properly..

Thanks

Any idea if this is the right part for a Evo 9? It looks completely different from the picture on the AMS site and store listings. I guess I'll try it when my gauges arrive.

Thats the right one , the end on the left of the pic with the line in the bag is where you'll connect your sending unit to and the other will thread into the filter housing , now idk what style threads AMS uses for the housing side but I would simply call and see if your worried.

Sorry for the thread jack but I'll be doing a Defi Oil Pressure Gauge install soon. I have the AMS sending unit. The sensor seemed to screw fine onto the AMS sending unit. The ams sending unit has a 1/8 NPT female end and per the 42draftdesigns they said

"Using a Defi gauge?
This adaptor is not for you(This adapter is 3/8" BSPT male thread to 1/8" NPT female threads). Defi oil pressure senders are 1/8" BSPT. You will need to use our BSPT adapter."

So since the ams sending unit is a 1/8 NPT female and my defi needs a 1/8 BSPT. So do I need to get an adapter that is a 1/8 NPT Male to 1/8 BSPT female to get my defi sensor to fit correctly on the AMS sending unit? Or can I just screw the sensor onto the sending unit, use some thread sealant and call it a day?

Thanks.

That's what confused me that fitting that would go to the oil filter housing looks massive, as if it would be to big. If this works in the stock oil filter housing hex screw what's the point in spending 16$ on the fitting from 42draft designs?
