a shop that knows how to install the FP red into an evo 8 with the evo 9 turbo install kit. And 1 hell of a badass tuner.

Thats all you need.

You can run it on an otherwise stock car, though its potential will be limited by the lack of supporting players. At the point in time that people are getting around to upgrading their turbo, they already have many of the mods that will help them to get the most out of it (loosing restrictions in the intake track, loosing restrictions in the exhaust system, enhanced fuel delivery).

My recommendation would be to spend some serious time researching the FP Red and FP Green threads to get a better idea of the questions you should be asking of the person who will be doing the work.

im looking into this turbo right now too for my evo8 and what i have heard you should have turboback exhaust, fuel pump and some larger injectors too start. everyone also said to maximize its potential...a ported exhaust manifold, and o2 dump will help. and lastly some aftermarket cams and a larger intercooler+pipes and intake. i know that sounds like a lot haha but id say that stuff will help out quite a bit with any turbo upgrade.

I would say turbo-back exhaust, fuel pump, cams, springs/retainers, injectors, mbc, and a tune atleast.

You don't think the double pumper and 1200's are a bit much? I was wanting to run 850's with the red. I have pretty much everything you have minus EMS, COP setup, ARP's, and S&R kit.

He's running E85. You need additional fuel volume to reach the appropriate A/F with ethanol. You should be OK with the 850's on the Red, but I have seen people on gasoline who needed to go to 1000's for their Red setup.
