Car not starting... :(

Sooo.. I was driving down a street going 30 mph, and all of a sudden my car died while driving. Pulled over and tried to start it, and it wouldn't start, but it would still crank(all this happened last night). Now today, I tried to start it again hoping it would start, atleast for a little while, but now it cranked, then stop cranking. Tried to use jumper cables and it started cranking again, so i'm assuming the battery might be one of the reasons why?? not sure. anyways, i took off the cables and tried to again just to see what would happen, same thing, the car stopped cranking.

Sorry for all the rambling, just telling you guys what exactly happened lol. Anyways, anyone know what COULD possibly be wrong?

I'm scared to ask, but how did you get your car from the side of the road to your house?

Car battery is only used to start the car. Not the battery, could be an alternator or Crank Angle sensor.

how many miles on the car and how do you drive your car? also if you did jump ur batt. and the alt. was bad the car still should of turned on and once you take off the jumper then it whould die again, but you said you jumped it and it did crank but didn't turn over "I think you might have a lil bit more then just an alt and batt." the only thing i can tell you now is to swap out your oem batt. with another one and then test the alt. then go from there. just adding my two cents =) good luck bro.

Experienced the same problem. Check your fuses, number 8 and 15 in the engine compartment. A possible cause could be your rear o2 sensor coming into contact with the underside of the car.

definately not the battery, your car wouldnt even crank over at that point. If your car isnt turning over at all. i would do as others say, CHECK fuses, possibly injectors, possibly fuel pump - when you turn the key put your head by the rear seat, do you hear it turn on?, it sounds more like ignition problems than anything else.
