Possibly you might have a boost leak or the turbo is going bad,but it's most likely a boost leak.

i thought it was a leak too. had the problem with the stock fmic. so i decided to upgrade the fmic plus all the coupling with t-bolt clamps. checked all of my vacuum hoses including the mbc hoses and manifold. and how would i check if the turbo is bad?

Take the mass air pipe off that connected to the turbo and shaking the turbo bearing around if it has lot's of free play it's the turbo. Also make sure that the boost controller is set up properaly and installed right if it's hooked wrong you could have a problem like this. What is your boost level set up now?

Not usually don't forget as you go threw the gear's there's more load being used, put this way if you set your boost at 25 psi your not going to see it in first but when you go to second you'll see more boost then when you hit 3rd then it's at 25 psi just an example.Sound's to more there's a small boost leak some place check everything over again.
