Si to Evo

Greetings all!

I just wanted to drop in and introduce myself. I currently drive a 06 Civic Si, which is fun, but the lack of engine management (a major gripe of 06+ Si owners) has finally worn me down, along with other issues--fairly weak aftermarket. Not to mention I want a car with more potential. Sure I could drop 15 grand in the Si and have a beast, but a fwd beast

Hence, I have decided to start looking for an Evo. I will be looking for an 05-07 and looking to eventually do major mods...In the mean time maybe a few staged upgrades, etc. This will be my 1st awd car and 1st car with forced induction...

I have to call my insurance tomorrow to see what the cost will be...Last time I checked (when I bought the Si and had a bad record) it was ridiculous...I shall see what it's like with a clean record.

Anyway, I was a mod over at 8thcivic.com, but left a few months ago due to lack of time (not a site issue--love the site and community). As such, I will be doing a lot of searching and reading...Yes, I know how irritating it is to hear the same question 500x

Hope to get some great info here and to hopefully share some of my own.

I made that decision 2 yrs ago and I don't regret. I wasted a great amount of money and time on Hondas for 10 years. Now I make 380 awhp on stock turbo and stock cams.

I am sure your insurance will go up. Usually, any time you buy a car with more H.P. its an automatic increase.
Get married, then it will drop

I just became an Evo owner but still have my Ep3 Si. I love both cars. I'm still not done with the Ep. I can understand how you feel about the newer Si's. They are a ***** to mod. None the less, they are great cars. If you decide to go with an Evo, you may not turn back to Hondas. Unless you are like me and don't mind owning both cars. I couldn't get rid of my Vtec baby.

Thanks for the warm welcome all. Probably won't hear much from me for a while as I will have nothing to add until I read, read, read and read some more
