hey guys new guy here =)

hey guys i just bought an Evo a couple of weeks ago and i must say, being as its my first car that i bought, my first forced induction and first AWD car.......the experience is AMAZING. No problems with the car (had 27k miles on it when i bought) except battery needed to be changed and the belts changed. Now i need to change all the fluids and get it tuned cuz its overboosting and eating gas like a ****.

I have one simple, yet really noob question...when i take it to a car wash or something...will the soap and stuff from the wash mess anything up in the engine if it goes through that vent on the hood? lol

some pics of it (sorry i havent taken a full pic of the car..i always come home when tis dark and my fone cam sucks in the dark):

thnx again for having me here..im proud to be the owner of an Evolution =D

Nice car and welcome. Don't take it to the car wash!!! Well, unless you hate your paint, then it's okay. But if you like having a scratch free car you should search the show n' shine for the best way to wash her.

Welcome, nice car glad you like it. On the subject of the carwash, I never experienced any problems or do i know anyone who has, the only thing is you see some steam at first and thats it. Then again I'm sure Mitsubishi has considered that fact in the build, so i don't think there is anything to worry about.

Welcome.. Take care of it, and don't beat it too much until you find the limits of it and get used to them...
As of washing it, you'll be ok.. as long as water doesn't get to the intake.. If u dont have cone intake, then ur all good...

that works in arizona, here in ohio(and new york I'd imagine) i take my to the "do it your self car wash" and freeze my *** off for a bit while i hose it down. hand washing doesn't work when you have to remove road salt.

maybe you can take it to a hand car wash and bring your own micro fiber towels just in case they use crappy towels.

Just take it to a brushless car wash and you'll be 90% fine. 100% if they don't use the standard cheap chemicals. I know how you feel, washing cars here is impossible in the freezing cold, the water freezes before you can dry the car, hahaha.
