New guy, just got my 08' Silver Evo X
I saw a used Evo on the lot here in town so I went and checked it out on Sunday. On Monday, she was mine.
I got a decent deal on it and I had quite a bit of positive equity in my trade in. I took it in yesterday for an oil change and a once over by the dealership. They said everything looks good.
I came from an 00' Celica GT-S 6-speed, to a 03' WRX 5-speed, to an 04' STi, to a 06' Civic Si, and now I have the 08' Evo GSR. Yep, I've been through them.
I'm getting too old to keep this up so I'm going to have to hang onto this one. After a few days of driving her, I don't think it'll be a problem!
Anyways, just wanted to say hi and tell everyone I'm glad to be a new (to me) Evo owner!

Just went down to the basement to take a quick pic. Pay no attention to the basement, it's not finished and I haven't cleaned the cement from the walls yet. Hey, I have 8" thick rebar reinforced cement basement walls though!

9100 miles on it. It really depends how you look at it on price. Stealership gave me a bunch on my car (how they tried to show it). In reality, probably about $27,000. Stickered for $35,700 with the HID's, stereo, etc. package.
The bad. The previous owner hit a deer. I spoke with the original owner before I bought it and he said that he had to have the fender, headlight, and hood replaced. He had it fixed at the Mitsubishi dealership and they did an immaculate job. Nothing on Carfax and it appears to have been taken care of well. My only complaint is that the driver's side headlight is a little low. Anyone know how to aim it up to match the passenger's side?

Oh, and I forgot to add that the car came with an Agency BOV and an AMS catback exhaust. I've put the stock BOV back in and I will pick up the stock exhaust on Friday. Don't know what I'm going to do with the stock exhaust, but it'll be nice to have.
I also talked to the service guy at the dealership and he said that the catback and BOV are fine and wouldn't affect the warranty. He also said that they would have to prove that the parts caused the problem if any should arise!!

I KNOW you will enjoy it. I've been loving mine so far, finally getting a chance to wind it up on the highway and some twisties. Compared to my previous Subaru, RX8 and 3 series, this is one sweet ride. I hope to get some snow shoes soon to be winter proofed.

This is by design. The driver side is notched to not project quite as high as the passenger side (the lower bounds are the same, but the field is narrower on the driver side). This is to prevent your lights from blinding oncoming drivers. It is more noticeable on the HIDs than on regular lights, but it is completely normal... annoying, but normal.
