STUPID evo question...

im a "newbie" I guess lol not to car forums or to fast cars in general but definitely to this one

I drive a 335i right now thatll make ~420rwhp on racegas no problem but the cars like 3300 pounds so yeah its fast but all in all its a bmw and I wouldnt upgrade the turbos ever

I love the car... let me tell you first hand all the "mechanical problems" people have with bmws are mostly exxagerated, BMW is rock solid and if there is a problem they fix it right away

anyway what im looking for is another daily driven type car that i can switch up and make probably 550whp at tops if needed... so my stupid question is... can someone tell me the SAFEST way i can make that magic number? im into safety and all for the engine lasting for as long as possible so whatever would need to be built up wouldnt be a problem

anyone wanna share what turbo/tune/other bolt on combos theyre using for around the same awhp

ps I have used vishnu with my 335 and know/trust the guys over there... any comments on them from the evo side?

THANKS for your help

theres lots of ways to get there in a evo its not a hard road. its been done ver and over again. road race set up full drag set up, lots of lag no lag search around a bit and youll find hundreds of threads telling you how they got their and beyond. good luck man better put you "you should have searched flame suit on"

Have a bit of a search around and there's plenty of threads on here about different combinations that have made 500+whp so you should be able to decide from there by personnal preference i guess. But upgrade the basics like turbo, cams good tune and some other bits and you wont be far off I shouldnt think. Like dahuii77 said above go with all the buscher parts and you'll be good to go and never look back!!! good luck.....

stupid question

it was allready stated there are many different ways to get to the 500 550 whp.i am going to just make some guesses and see what happens.on this site most people tell you what is best based on what they are running.i am going to tell you what might work for you based on the little bit of information you have offered up,and the little bit of knowledge i have gleaned from this site and some years (22) of having a car hobby.first if price is no object i i am not even going to bother cause there are just too many options, lets just go with the easiest cheapest way to get 500 whp.after all you allready plopped down alot of cash for the bimmer.get an 05 8 with the acd, these can be had for around 15k go with the ssl package as you mentioned you need those ammenities.upgrade the exhaust to 3" turbo back, put some 272 cams in it ,upgrade valve springs and retainers, keepthe smaller turbos as they spool up quicker and still make good power.an 850 or 6262 are good options make sure its a ballbearing unit for extra early spool time over the 360 degree journal bearing.you will need about 1000cc injectors .i would suggest a blow through maf upgrade (gm 3.5" with maf translator) to eliminate restrictions before the turbo.also this helps with tuning the stock ecu for those bigger injectors.a proper ecu flash from a reputable shop is a must.you should be on target for the power.i am sure you know the fmic needs to be upgraded as well as the upper and lower i/c piping, blow off valve whitch you can vent to atmosphere now and a boost controller (you will probably need at least 30 psi for your target hp..lets see you will def. need an aftermarket clutch (act is good for the money).if you are going to do any road courses put a set of coilovers on as well as some lighter and wider wheels w/sticky tires i am pretty sure up to 9.5" wide rims with 265 tires have been done with a bit of fender rolling.you could stand to have a compliment of gauges to keep track of whats going on under the hood.no n02 needed for this power level but a meth injection kit would seal the deal especially if al tou can get is that crappy 91 octane i often hear about.i hope this short book will help you.if you take the time to read the forums this is about what you will probably come away with.oh and i am sure i forgot something but this is kind of an overview

thats exactly what i was looking for but just a ?

are you saying the 8 over the 9 just because u have it? or just because its cheaper

honestly i know its a small diff but i love how the 9 looks

also how is vishnu with tuning? theyre great with my 335

and also i wouldnt put no2 or water/meth... im in nj and can always get access to 93 anywhere and sometimes even 100/104

evo 8

i prefer the evo 9 looks and the jdm 9 rear bumper.fact is you pay alot more for the 9 or the mr and the 6 speed is not as desireable for road course or drag racing.if you check out the vendors (i can not recall the company) you can buy a 9 front bumper and jdm rear bumper in frp for loike 700.00 including shipping.
