hellow everyone.

on evo ix mr i see the sticker of the manufacturer the vin number with 17 digits starting from JA3.... the same is written on the airbag tag on the far left corner of the front screen. in the engine space the vin number has 12 digits starting from
CT9...

the last 8 digits are the same in both locations.

is that correct? what is the right vin number?

the correct vin on any car worldwide is found on the driver side by the windshield where reg. sticker usually is

 

Is this a MR you are looking to buy? If so, as what DSM2EVO said, check the driver's side windshield area and also the door jam. If the numbers don't match up, it might be a new(ish) motor. I would car fax that just to make sure something isn't wrong otherwise.

Bonus points--Salvage or clean title?

i own this evo for 2 months now. verry happy. 2 words only can describe this car: great performance. only few thinks needs to be checked such as the boost and the ecu.

i checked again and the number on the sticker at the driver's door jam is the same with that one on the driver's side windshield area (airbag tag). So everythings seems to be ok! But what about the number in the engine space with 12 digits? it's written on the metal surface.




I'm very excited with this car. it has 26k miles now (only 1k miles on greek roads).

 

that is just the body number.
