newbie nitrous ?
You may want to do a quick search, read the stickies and see how we get power out of our cars. Really. It's the only way for you to get realistic perspective. As for this thread, taking Evo modding advice from a non-Evo owner borders on the absurd. Do your own legwork and you'll thank yourself later. Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I had no idea tune could produce more hp than a 25 shot on an otherwise stock evo.
I am very capable of installing a wet shot. The reason I was asking about a dry shot is because I want a hidden sneaky pete type of setup and a dry would be easier to do this with. Since I had heard the evos run kind of rich stock I thought this might be a way to kill to birds with one stone.
Turbo back exhaust was already on my to do list as well as a tune although I was considering this in the meantime.
Also I have been reading the stickys and was surprised I did not see one about NOS although I might have missed it since I was browsing from my cell phone.

im sure the motor can take it but me personnally, i would do a wet shot with something alittle bigger. they are safer due to the added fuel and you will feel more of it. im actually thinking of doing a wet shot to mine.
I used nitrous a lot of time this year a 75hp wet shot, with a Jestr tune without problems..., but nitrous is not the best way to have more hp and cost a lot of money, so I made a good investment and rebuilt my ix turbo to a FP red, I just waiting for it, is my christmas gift!
The nitrous is funny for a while but a RED turbo is the best way to have more HP all the time, without open the bottle to race!

Oh, well, mabey you can clear this up for me and tell me if I'm correct: You are saying that the OP taking advice about nitrous from a non Evolution owner is absurd. Right?
What does nitrous have to do with an Evolution alone? Does nitrous work differently in a 4G63 than it does in say a 3SGTE, or a 2JZGTE, or any other engine for that matter? Furthermore, the examples of using spray I cited earlier were on a 4G63 engine, so what chassis the engine is put in should be considered when taking advice to mod it?
My whole point is that nitrous is no more reliable or unreliable as a big turbo and supporting mods, and cheaper. $500 spent otherwise would barely buy you a set of injectors and a tune and assuming you have a bone stock car, wouldn't yeild you the same results as just slapping on a wet kit.

I really think you should step away from the keyboard a second.
You assume because it says in my profile I own a Talon, that I don't know Evos come with 560cc injectors. Or that they come with front mounts we don't have, a 16g larger than most of us upgrade to out of the box (even bigger if you have a IX). We can go on and on about the differences, but regardless, with your superiority complex goggles on, you failed to see the point. The point of this thread was basicly "the bolt on, upgrade your turbo, do other mods option" vs. "put a 25 shot of spray" option. If you have enough supporting mods on a stock Evo, you can easily max out a set of 560s on a stock turbo.
Furthermore, I was also making an example of what $500 will get you, in comparison to a nitrous kit. If me saying injectors cost $300 (when, you being a superior Evo owner knows that a 560cc injector will be plenty big of an injector for him when modding his car) bothers you, I rephrase that for you: $500 will barely buy you a tune, a cheeseburger and a milkshake, a downpipe, four gumballs, and a copy of Fast and the Furious on DVD (where most people get their nitrous facts from anyhow).
Now, do you want to get off of your Evo superiority complex and actually contribute some facts or reasonable opinions to the thread?

The fact is that you cited a useless mod relative to the question at hand. All else is irrelevant. End of story.

Most people on this forum are strongly against nitrous, even though when its done right it is a great power adder. Why are many people so sketchy about it , I don't really know, they always give the blow up comment, but that just shows they are not fully educated towards its benefits. If you want to do nitrous i would agree with going more than a 25 shot and going for a wet system. Almost every other car forum but ours endorses nitrous , so don't listen to people who don't know what there talking about.
also ignore people like this, their obvious comments in this thread about nitrous on an evo compared to a talon show his or her knowledge to be substandard on this topic as he or she just wants to talk about how someone doesn't drive an evo yet drives a car with a 4g63.

its like saying a non-3000GT owner cant give advice to 3000GT owners cuz he owns a Dodge Stealth.............SAME FRICKIN ENGINE
on topic...do some reading you might find mixed ideas but i THINK most of the people on EvoM are against its use...then again its your car, you do what you want with it just make sure you have the funds...personally i'd take the 50 shot of nitrous...it works wonders =)

That's simply not true. The engines are not identical internally. Hell, they don't even mount the same way. I have no idea why you felt the need to assert such a thing.
You're comparing two identical cars with different badges to two completely different cars produced 15+ years apart. Mitsubishi steadily upgraded the 4G63 through the years.

NOOBS: beware advice from members that are biased.
back on topic, to the op i suggest searching the evo nitrous forum and posting in there to avoid some much attention from the wrong people.
