I'm looking to buy a 2006 Evolution IX.

I found a GSR with 5,000 miles for $23,500. What do you guys think, I think its a good deal. It's mostly stock, has a aftermarket exhaust, and a reflash.

What do you guys think? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

 

With that millage and for that price it is a good deal. I would look for signs that it was "de-modded" leaving only the exhaust/flash. Of course do a Carfax, although you can't always trust them. Key things too look at that are easy are the exhaust manifold to see it that was ever played with. The valve cover should also never have been cracked with only 5k on the clock, so that would be an indicator of prior modification. In the end its your best judgment. Good luck with the purchase!

 

compared to what most of us paid for out Evos, that is a good deal. Like maximum said you need to look at signs if it was modded before, and if it was abused. You should also test drive it, if you haven't already, and make you own judgment on it.

do you know the owner?...find out what u can about the original owner...how he drove it...what he did as far as mods...that's really low mileage...noone would mod it and then get rid of it that quick unless something was wrong or they just needed the money cuz they couldn't afford it...hopefully it's just a money issue...if so then go for it!
