Future Evo X Owner

Well to start off I am 19 years old and drive an 07 Altima 3.5 and sometime within this year (preferably when the MR comes with the 6 speed) I will be looking into getting an Evo X. The Altima is my first car and the Evo would be my second car. While I know these are very different cars, the Evo X really appeals to me. I currently am not even really to good at driving manual (struggle to get it going lol) but I plan on learning very soon.

Anyways I was just curious on where I could start to look to find the basics of the Evo and where I can find the basics of modding the Evo.

Is the MR with the TC-SST a good transmission that you can make pretty fast or is it many used for everyday driving?

Any tips or where I can find the basic information about these cars so that I understand exactly what some of the threads on this forum on are really talking about.

Also I really want to get my Evo X in WW lol.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks alot in advance
Dustin

You are in the right place to learn about the car. Start reading. You will not find more information anywhere else then right here. If you go to the bottom of the main forum page you can select to view threads 'from the beginning" and it will show every thread ever made in this forum.

All your questions have been answered over and over again...

And as far as learning how to drive a manual all you have to do is drive around town a few times (preferably by yourself) and you will get the hang of it. You will stall a few times at traffic lights but the embarrasment makes you learn real quick. However learning to drive stick in an evo is not the greatest idea due to its clutch burn factor and cost of replacement...

Thanks for your help man

Yea I was trying to think of a car to practice on but since I do not know too much about manuals I was not exactly sure what would be a good car to learn on. But I guess what ever manual transmission car I can find that someone I know wouldn't mind me learning on would work.

All the information you need is on this forum. I was in your exact same position before I considered buying an evo x. I didn't even know how to drive stick. I currently own a Evo GSR. 1 month after owning it, I was already taking the car to the track, so you will learn manual very quickly.

For daily driving the SST would be a good transmission but the fun factor isn't as much as driving a manual car. If you have intentions to take the car to the track, the SST transmission is also known to overheat.

Hope that information helps.

Yea I most definitely want to go to the track. I found myself modding my Altima and I began to think I was wasting my money. So basically I am going back to my original love in the Evo X.

When you purchased your GSR did you know how to drive manual or did you just learn on the fly? If you learned previously what car did you learn on?
