Hate FWD, love boost, didn't want to spend more than 30k. It was a toss up between the STi and Evo, didn't like the STi when I test drove it and was not really impressed with the capabilities of it when going BPU. Picked up my 9 and never looked back, still gives me a rush every time I drive it.

i was in college and caught som WRC on Speed channel (which needs to come back to Speed channel but that's another argument) and Makkinen was beating the field by a ridiculous amount of time. I said that I would have one to my roomie and he said never. I have one now.

I thought it would be out of the price range when I was looking for the car. I wanted a sports car but one that I would have to drive in rain, snow, sleet, hail, tornado, hurricane, and not feel bad about driving it, and the wife said that I could only have a car with 4 doors since we were discussing our family plans. She found one that was within the price range and told me to buy it.

It was either the STi or Evo, and I went witth the evo since some douchetard cut me off in an STi. That was the 5th STi I saw that day and I wanted something different.

I watched my son play countless car video games, and the Evo kept popping up on practically all of them. Looked pretty cool. Test drove one, searched, and bought one less than a month later.

I saw the movie "Who am I" with Jackie Chan and loved the evo in that. Then I had a buddy get an STI and say that he beats every evo so far. I said BS and bought one. To this day he still will not go to the track with me...

I adored my 2000 Celica GT-S. But my wife was pregnant. I needed a 4-door that seated five. I pouted for two weeks, marched in the door after 2 weeks and told her, "Fine, I'll trade in the Celica. But I'm NOT going to drive a m---er f---ing Taurus.

The C&D comparo came out that month in '03: Evo vs. STi. I got the photoshoot pages and plopped the mag in her lap, and said, "Pick one". She flipped thru the pages and picked the Evo. I was so damn glad it wasn't that fugly Subaru. *Laugh*

I traded in the Celica in pristine shape with 112,000 miles on her. Our daughter was saying, "Whee!" when I backed out of the garage with her in the kid's seat in the back of the Evo.

Since then, I have a 100+ mile commute job. My wife looked at the resale on the Evo and told me I couldn't commute with it anymore. So, guess what I did? I went out and found a used 2000 Celica GT-S. It now has 191,000 miles on it and is a fabulous drive with 30MPG. Sways, intake, exhaust, struts, springs with a larger TB, newly developed manifold, and PFC on the way. Will be running well over 200whp thru a front LSD in the 2500lb DD and bringing the Evo out for weekends and events. It's the best part of gettin' older, havin' some cash to do this crap with! *Laugh*

Because I've had DSM's in the past mostly. I never thought about an sti because I just don't care for subarus but went to look at one anyway. The dealer wanted 4k over what I paid for my RS and the saleman acted like a child talking about how evos suck/aren't relable etc. It was an easy descision.

I love this comment Rofl.

But the reason i got my evo was because i have always been into anything mitsubishi basically. I started out with a 2001 Eclipse Rs as my first car at 16 then i had that for about 2 1/2 years and then started really getting into speed, ever since then ive been wanting to go faster and faster. I had my dsm (99gsx) for a little while and started making decent power and made the smart decision to sell it before i started breaking stuff left and right as they are known for. I have always loved evo's ever since i first saw i believe it was evo v. Few months past after selling the gsx and i saw i deal i couldnt pass up and went out and bought my dream car 06' black ix evo , i love it. Thats about it lol
