How long is Evo 9 warranty?
Lots of 3rd party company are doing this. I've received several messages. I called the dealer directly and the guy knew exactly what I was talking about. He said just ignore it and that he got some before too.
2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Warranty Program
Basic 5 year / 60,000 miles (applies to all owners after the original)
Drivetrain 10 year / 100,000 miles (This is for the original owner only)
Roadside 5 year / Unlimited miles
Rust 7 year / 100,000 miles
Basic Warranty: The basic warranty covers everything except items that are subject to wear and tear or replacement in the ordinary course of vehicle ownership, such as oil and air filters, wiper blades and brake pads. Tires and batteries are often excluded, but usually have their own warranty provided by the manufacturers of those items. Emissions equipment is required by Federal law to be covered for five years or 50,000 miles.
Drive Train Warranty: In some cases the drive train warranty continues after the basic warranty has expired. This part of the warranty covers most of the parts that make the vehicle move, including the engine, transmission, drive axles and driveshaft. Like the basic warranty, consumable parts such as hoses and belts are not covered. However, most of the internal parts of the engine, such as the pistons and bearings, which are also subject to wear and tear, are covered by the drive train warranty.
Roadside Assistance: Many manufacturers provide a service that will rescue you if your car leaves you stranded, even if it's your fault. Lock yourself our of your car? Run out of gas? Got a flat tire? A call to the manufacturer's toll-free number will result in somebody showing up who can help you out. There is a huge variance in these programs so check ahead of time to see what is covered and what you will have to pay for.
Rust or Corrosion Warranty: Rust or Corrosion Warranty: This warranty covers the vehicle's sheet metal, and protects you from rust and corrosion that are severe enough to cause a hole - surface rust is not covered. However, if you keep your car washed and waxed rust shouldn't be a problem.

My warranty manual that came with my 9 says 5 years for the basic warranty, 10 years for the drive train (5 year drivetrain for subsequent owners) . But I think in reality its until you floor the car...
I got back from iraq 2 weeks ago and back at home on block leave.
Went through my mails and found letter from mitsubishi.
Its telling me that my warranty expires on 2/16/09.
hmm I thought I had 10year/10,000 power train warranty.
I bought my car on dec 07 and never went to dealership after that.
bought it brand new

It's a scam. funny thing is when I got back from Iraq in June 08 I have 23 voice mails on my phone from a similar scam telling me my warrenty was about to expire. I'm thinking to myself I have 2 almost brand new cars. The **** that some people try to pull never ceases to amaze me.
Enjoy your leave brother, and get home safe soon. What unit are you with over there?

Hmm..I need to check this. I thought I read my warrenty manual and it said 2nd owner only decreases powertrain. I got my steering wheel replaced this month under warranty and getting a new shock/strut mount soon (when the part comes in), under warranty. I don't know when my car is at the 3 year mark though. One of those BS 3rd party flier said the car was bought 39 months ago, but who knows if that's true.

Need help here. They've been calling me(automated message) every single day for last 2 weeks. I even talked to customer service to delete my phone number.
I'm getting really pissed.
BTW first thing they say is "Your FACTORY WARRANTY is expiring soon"
and when you connect to customer service, they ask for make and model of car.....
