If you sign up for extended warranty prolly that's the one that is expiring and they just
trying to sell you extended warranty. I wouldn't do it, it's just a waste of money. Just
save the money and keep your car properly maintained.

so with the powertrain warranty, 10 yr/100,000 miles, would the defective timing belt tensioner whatever thing thats been notorious for making that weird noise on a bunch of 9s be covered under this warranty? anyone had that replaced under their warranty???

What "defective notorious belt tensioner (sic) whatever thing?" In six years of being here, this is the first I've heard of whatever it's supposed to be.

If it's defective, then quite a few have had it replaced...except there's no record of a defect or frequent replacement.

Have you read that thread? 'cause I just read the entire thing. It starts out with several non-automotively inclined individuals commenting on a benign noise. Then, it evolves into a discussion featuring a number of mildly related issues all ascribed to a single event with zero logical grounding for such a supposition. Never mind that at least two thirds of the folks messed around under the hood without knowing WTF they were doing. It's like the shifting/gearbox threads we had back then.
