Evo 10 or S2K CR
It's yellow...that makes it faster than any Evo X!
Congrats on the car, enjoy it in good health. I've driven an AP2 they are fun, but knowing my history with modding cars, the EvoX was just more me. And i'm asian so I didn't need any Johnny Tran references LOL.

If you have no regrets then by all means you made the right. I sold my IX about a year ago and I am actually thinking about picking up an evo VIII and an ap2 soon over the X. I test driven all three and I love them all but the idea of having two bad *** cars compared to having one just out weighs everything else. Maybe once I pay off the S2K and VIII, the evo XI will be out lol...but anyhow congrats on your s2k CR!
Huh?
What is this thread about?
An AWD sports sedan that seats 4-5 vs. a RWD two seater?
My buddy owns the S2 and it's fine, but it IS RWD and does NOT have the feedback at the wheel of an Evo. In fact the Miata has better feedback, which is why it scores above much faster cars on a regular basis.
On any imperfect surface the S-AWD/AYC is simply the king and betters cars costing three times the price. The S2 will NEVER accomplish such things on real roads. And it can't handle a wet road, snow or even some dust in the corners. It's simply a different type of machine that has little to do with what an Evo is all about. I'd even take an STI over a S2K, but that's because I don't want a RWD two seater. You might as well compare the Evo to a Minivan.

I had a 06 S2000 and the car was lots of fun. I had HKS exhaust and coilovers. Car handled great but it wasn't that quick on the straights. Car was extremely sexy but I gave her up for a G35 coupe (traded for Evo X) because I got tired of all the damn thieves down here in Florida. Make sure you keep her in the garage EVERYTIME you're home or you will regret it later.
I know light weight = better cornering speed, but I am not talking about racing on paper, I am talking about actually driving the car. The technology in the X alows it to take corners (even though its heavy) faster than any stock S2K I have driven and I have driven AP1's, AP2's and also CR's. FWIW I have driven S2K's that are much faster (Track prepped) that can def corner faster than a stock EVO VIII, IX, or X, but in stock form neither car got over 1G on the skid pad (though both were close).
I also recently parted out my heavily modded AP2 (weighed just over 2600lbs and was on KWV3 tuned for aggressive driving with other footwork too) and I promise it was more capable than a stock CR
... so I am not just talking out my @$$ on this one There will always be a place in my heart for the S2000 I really loved that car, but its basically a ten year old design with very few updates and somewhat underpowered with the current selection of cars that are available from other manufactures.
To the OP I hope you enjoy you car as much as I enjoyed mine and take her to the track so you can really have some fun with it (I would recommend upgrading pads and brake fluid it will help alot
you would be better served go with a 70mm single exhaust, TP, header (either J's, ASM, Mugen 2.2 or if you have time to wait and deep pockets the Hytech header is the best one available) and IMHO a Password JDM CF cold air intake, then have the ECU reflashed for the mods
If u think the CR can't handle in a corner with dust u are stupid and have never been in one. I had a VIII and this CR handles very close not on exact point as the evo. But i think its much more sexy and rare. And costs less to maintain and lighter than the X. Now its not on pint to a 9 or 8 evo but i think it would out perform a 10. I love the evos i cant wait to get a 8 or 9 for dd. But this car really handles a corner with no problem its not AWD but i think that makes it more fun to drive for me.

When you say the CR will out perform the X are only talkig about in the corners, becasue I will disagree 100% being as I have owned two S2000's AP1 and AP2 (loved them both) The CR may take a corner a little fast but it dam sure wont get to the corner as fast as the X will. S2000's are nice but they have no power or Torque unless you build the hell out of it and no way will the CR take the X on a straight away
